It’s obvious who the Next Head Coach of the Titans will be!
For the first time in six years, the Titans are in the head coaching market. Tennessee fired HC Mike Vrabel today after six seasons and four winning campaigns. With Vrabel out of the picture, the Titans will have to act quickly and find their next head coach sooner rather than later. GM Ran Carthon will be heading the coaching search, and for that reason, there is one clear-cut candidate who will be the next head coach of the Tennessee Titans...
Ran Carthon worked in the San Francisco 49ers' front office for over five years. Texans' OC Bobby Slowik worked on the 49ers' coaching staff for the same period of time as Carthon did in the front office (2017-2022). With the firing of Vrabel, Carthon can pick the head coach he wants to collaborate with along with ownership, and it makes perfect sense for this new coach to have the same ideals and philosophies as him. Slowik worked in San Francisco with Carthon for over five years, and the two probably know each other really well. This leads me to believe that Slowik and Carthon have many of the same ideals, and a collaboration between the two would be a match made in heaven. Controlling Owner Amy Adams Strunk stresses collaboration between the head coach and GM is pivotal to building a formidable football team. I can't think of a better collaborative duo than Slowik and Carthon. This is just my speculation, but this assumption has a higher chance of being correct than incorrect...
Not only will Slowik mesh well with Carthon, but he is also a young and innovative offensive mind. Since taking over as the Texans' OC, Slowik has done wonders with rookie QB CJ Stroud and has done an adequate job with a Houston offense that lacks high-end talent. The only problem with Slowik is that he lacks experience. The 36-year-old hasn't been a coordinator for a full calendar year, so taking on a head coaching job could be overwhelming. Despite this, I fully expect relationships and collaboration to be at the forefront of Ran Carthon's mind, leading to Bobby Slowik receiving the job as the next HC of the Tennessee Titans...
